5 Ways To Not Drink Vodka Martini
This name shot to fame right after Yan Flaming made his hero, James Bond, drink a vodka martini in his Casino Royale. The rest is history. It’s now an iconic cocktail, hence, it is quite a favourite among many. Therefore, quite available. But there is a drawback to this wide popularity or availability. All the bartenders across the globe often fail to serve you the Martini that your soul wants. In fact, they some time wreck it like you can never imagine. Here is a list of such 5 ways you should not drink your vodka Martini -
1.Tasteless vodka: Martini is not about using any vodka that is available, but using a high quality vodka to avoid a bitter aftertaste. So, to get that ‘perfect’ Martini, ensure you are not settling for some cheap brands. Instead, go for Grey Goose or Stolichnaya or something as classic and elite as Rodnick.
2.Too little vermouth: Perfect ratio of vodka and vermouth plays a key role in producing the perfect Martini. Some people think martini is all about chilled vodka and olives. But, quite opposite to this common misconception, it’s about the right amount of vermouth too. In fact, if you prefer your martini dryer then increase the vermouth than the common 3:1 vodka-vermouth ratio.
3.Miserable vermouth: Yes, the crummy, old, too cheap, warm vermouth is the last thing you would want in your Martini.
4.Warm Martini: A warm Martini is anything but a martini. Whether it’s the glass not chilled properly or the vodka/vermouth unrefrigerated, there could be absolutely no excuse for a warm martini. It will be much wiser to set your money on fire literally than buying a glass of warm Martini.
Big glass: The sight may look alluring, but, trust me, the taste won’t be alluring after a few minutes. Reason? You can’t gulp it down in ten minutes, but that time is enough to make it warm. Therefore, instead of ordering a huge glass of Martini, go for multiple orders and enjoy your drink chilled.
